The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) works with communities, businesses, not-for-profit organizations and other orders of government in southern Ontario to strengthen the region's capacity for innovation, economic development and growth.
Mandate and role
FedDev Ontario's core mandate is to strengthen southern Ontario's economic capacity for innovation, economic development and growth. FedDev Ontario makes strategic investments to continue building a diverse and inclusive economic ecosystem that focuses on sustainable job creation, long-term investments in clean growth projects, global competitiveness and increased productivity in southern Ontario. Through regionally-tailored programs, advisory services and strategic collaboration, FedDev Ontario supports the growth of key industry sectors, businesses and not-for-profits across the region.
The Agency is one of Canada's regional development agencies, each of which helps to address key economic challenges by providing regionally-tailored programs, services, knowledge and expertise.
